Course Description

• This class is a full year commitment, which will fulfill Stuyvesant's Computer Science and 5-Tech requirements. The first semester will cover the principles of computer science while programming in the Racket and NetLogo languages. Students will work individually and in pairs throughout the year programming and using CS concepts as problem solving tools. It will conclude with a final project and final exam. The second semester will cover the more practical side of computer programming using the Python language (with a few assignments using NetLogo and Racket). Students will also be introduced to data analysis and back-end web programming. It will conclude with a final project.
