Prerequisites

• - STUDENT TAKING UYS11, TO JOIN THE ENSEMBLES YOU WILL NEED TO AUDITION, PLEASE REACH OUT TO THE MUSIC DEPT. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO LEAVE THE ENSEMBLES, PLEASE SPEAK TO YOUR ENSEMBLE DIRECTOR AT THE END OF THE CURRENT TERM.

Course Description

• Stuyvesant offers a plethora of instrumental and choral music classes and currently has eleven performing ensembles. Auditions are on-going. Incoming freshmen audition during the summer. All students can audition during the fall semester to begin participating in the Spring term, or during the Spring term for the following year. Students who are chosen for an ensemble will be exempt from the Music Appreciation requirement after successfully participating in an ensemble for 2 terms. Students who successfully complete 8 terms of an ensemble have their senior-tech requirement waived.
