Course Description

• Modern Chemistry 1 of 2 is the first term of an introductory honors-level chemistry course covering topics found on both the Regents Chemistry Exam and the SAT Chemistry Subject Test. Students cultivate their understanding of matter and energy and their interactions in the modern world through inquiry-based investigations as they learn about properties and changes of matter, three phases of matter, atomic structure, the Periodic Table, energy associated with physical and chemical changes, chemical bonding and shapes, chemical reactions, moles and stoichiometry, the behavior of gases, and nuclear chemistry.
